The Challenge:

Getting the right people at the right hub can be a difficult challenge for an airline. Jobs are location specific and the presence of multiple airlines each airport makes the competition fierce for qualified candidates. Southwest Airlines knew that to overcome this challenge they wanted to activate the reach of their own employees’ personal networks. After all, referral recruitment is known to be one of the most efficient and cost-effective sources of hires. Some employees were already sharing jobs manually on social networks the process was tedious and the results were often unattractive. Not the best way to attract the attention of potential candidates. A smooth process with an attractive delivery was needed.

The Solution:

To solve this pain point, the company chose to set up Employer Branding with Work4 using Social Job Sharing. This technology allowed jobs to be automatically imported from the ATS while also enabling automated social sharing. Employees could now easily set up sharing parameters and let the system take care of rest! With strong imagery, and beautiful job cards Southwest Airlines job posts are now perfectly positioned to create maximum interaction with candidates. Thanks to Southwest Airlines’ team of recruiters the new program was rapidly rolled out. They even organized contests to create buzz around the project! To date, the results have been outstanding.
